Dear Friends,

Indeed, it has been a long time since I have been able to join our reunion. None-the-less, I always think of Westtown and my life-long friends. When the 50th reunion comes, I'll do whatever is necessary to get back to Pennsylvania.

Along with many others, I went to Earlham for undergraduate education. And then, instead of being forced off to Viet Nam, I served two years of alternative service through the AFSC in Guatemala. After that, I went to the U. of Washington and got a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work. Then, I moved to Denver and started providing therapy and continuing education at the U. of Colorado. I received a Ph.D. in Sociology and also began as an instructor for various universities. Since then, I got a great wife, Cynthia (psychologist), a son, Nathan (now a librarian), and a daughter, Hannah (now a professional actress). Over the years, we moved to Colorado Springs and I participated in numerous volunteer groups, including Emergency Mental Health, for the American Red Cross.

Last year, I was diagnosed with a rare disease: Primary Progressive Aphasia. This makes word retreival a problem and eventually does me in. I was starting to write my book as well. Thus, I retired and put great effort in to finish the first draft. It was done by last September. Now, I am in the process of getting an agent and a publisher. The book is a collection of Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, Biology, and Spirituality. The title: Life Begins When You Get One: Practical Answers to Major Life Questions. I will let the Westtown news letter know when it is published and I hope you all find it interesting and helpful.

I care for you all. Have a grest reunion!

Chuck
