I married Carole Hill Telfair, a classmate at Earlham and we have raised two wonderful daughters - J. Megan Telfair - born 5/15/73, Westtown class 1991, Haverford 1995 and Catharine M. Telfair - born 7/27/75, Westtown class 1993, Macalester 1997.

Megan got her Masters in Counseling and Education from Columbia in 2004. She and her husband, Steve Cha now live in Wash, DC. Steve is an MD, is a Staffer for Congressman Henry Waxman and has been heavily involved in health care reform. Megan is a counselor at Marymount University. They have 2 future Westtonians
Bill, Carole and daughter Caty in front of Sacre Coeur
(YES, GRANDCHILDREN) - ages 2 and 4 this summer, whom we adore.

Caty received a masters in Art History from the Art Institute of Chicago in 2006 and then worked in the Art Museum as a group tour guide. She is currently enrolled at Berkeley, getting her PhD in Art History. She is now actually living in Paris for a year - studying for her thesis. So we all went to Paris for 2 weeks over Christmas this year.

I am still Director of R&D at IRIDEX Corp. in Mountain View, CA (NO, not retired yet!). We make Medical Laser systems for treatment of diseases in Ophthalmology

and Otolaryngology. We also make Laser systems for Aesthetic treatments in Dermatology. This is quite different from the eye treatments of VISX and working in the refractive surgery business for many years. I am still playing soccer and basketball.

For my 60th birthday I organized a glorious week long family reunion at the cabin my father built in Fairplay, CO. This included all 3 sisters and most of our children and grandchildren - 23 in all. We actually stayed in 3 cabins (borrowed from neighbors) and a large rental house, where we could all gather together. This was the middle of June, but we had to drive through a couple of snow banks to get to
Bill and sisters on high altitude hike in CO
the cabin which is at 10,600 feet elevation - right at timber line. We did a lot of hiking, saw many deer, antelope, elk, marmots and picas plus lots of birds, and rafted down the Arkansas River.
