As far as news from me: I am still gainfully employed as the executive director of a small nonprofit mental health program in central Denver. We serve adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses (schizophrenia, bipolar and so forth) in a rather unusual setup which involves them electing a nonprofit board of their peers which governs everything we do (including riding herd on me) in partnership with a second board which represents people from the community at large. Sounds cumbersome, but it really works pretty well. We run a psychiatric clinic, a drop-in center, and an outreach project serving homeless people with mental illnesses, and we also try to rabble rouse and to do things like get mentally ill people represented on policymaking boards, government task forces etc.

Otherwise, I sit on the board of the Chinook Fund (a local progressive foundation) and teach occasional evening courses at the Regis University undergraduate program and at the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work.
Other big news - between now and the reunion (i.e., in April) I will be getting married for the second time. This one is a keeper - Christine and I have been together for 25 years and are marking the date of our 25th anniversary (counting from the day we met) by tying the knot. As one of my friends wrote, "I hope you crazy kids aren't jumping into anything!" I have a stepson whom I love dearly and an eight year old grandson over whom I am pretty gaga. My extracurricular interests are fooling around on the piano and traveling to other countries.
But enough about me. I look forward to seeing everyone who can make it to the reunion.
