Susanne with her Madder Goddesses
(handspun yarn, dyed with Madder)

I wish I could be at the reunion but the season has begun here and I can't escape.

Nothing has changed with me since the 35th. Well, one son, Jesse, married to a fine woman, moved to Bangor and expecting! Other son, Carl is a woodchopper in central Maine and will marry his sweetie in 2 years. My dad is 95 and lives with us. Charlie's mom has a house across the field.

We both love our work. Charlie has a new large wood kiln where he fires large vessels. I am growing plant dyes and weaving rugs and tapestries. And teaching. I get great apprentices from Earlham College art program.

My 15 minutes of fame was a calendar,' Wearing Wool,' my spinning group made in 2002. We sold 20,000 and made over $100,000. Gave 10% to breast cancer prevention research. I was Miss August, wearing only a bit of wool.

I'm still singing Shapenote and loving it.

Oh, yes. We have a web page. hogbay.com
